‘New Amsterdam’ is a medical drama series that airs Tuesdays on NBC. The show is currently in its second season has already been renewed for 3 more seasons. In season 2, Dr. Max Goodwin is still grappling with the devastating death of his wife, Georgia, after a tragic ambulance crash that severely injured Dr. Bloom as well. Georgia had just given birth to her and Max’s daughter, Luna. Georgia’s death has left Max a single dad while also being in charge of the hospital. He’s also in remission after being diagnosed with cancer at the beginning of season 1. ‘New Amsterdam’ is inspired by Dr. Eric Manheimer’s memoir ‘Twelve Patients: Life and Death at Bellevue Hospital’ and his 15 years as medical director at the hospital.
